CTC Ten Foundation was founded in 2007 to honor the memory of Christopher T. Campbell. CTC Ten’s mission is to promote the education and development of disadvantaged youth through sport in Khayelitsha, South Africa. Chris, who passed away suddenly at the age of 21, was an avid soccer player and travel enthusiast with a love for children, making this a fitting tribute to his memory.
Since launching in the fall of 2007, CTC Ten Foundation made significant progress towards its mission. In January 2009 we hosted the grand opening of the Chris Campbell Memorial Field – the first community turf field in Khayelitsha, Site B, South Africa. Less than a year later, construction was completed on the adjoining clubhouse that houses classroom facilities used for the educational endeavors that support the sports program run at the field. Now each month more than 2,000 local children participate in programs at the field ranging from a young adult crime prevention league to girl’s empowerment teams.
